EAST COAST Competition Team

COMPETITION SEASON

January - June

The SEPKC season begins January with 5-8 Qualifier competitions held every month at a different parkour gym in the East Coast.
Those Athletes that Qualify for any of the events; Speed, Skill and/or Style. Will participate in Finals on June held at Urban Youth Park Nocatee 
(Check SEPKC competition circuit for a participating gym in your area)

Athletes will compete within their divisions depending on their age:
Youth Division: 6-8 | 9-11 | 12-14

Teen’s: 15-17

Adults: 18+

Once division is determined, athletes will participate in 1, 2, or all 3 Events:

Freestyle: Athletes one by one, will be provided with a 45sec run to display their movement; flow, creativity, execution and difficulty, all the Style. Panel of 5 judges from different participating gyms will score on a scale from 0.5 -10.

Speed: 3 different courses will be provided, rules may vary depending on course. Athletes will have two attempts on each course. Only the fastest time from each course will be considered for their final Speed Score.

Skill: Athletes will collect points by complete as many challenges as possible across gym. Increasing in points as they increase in difficulty. Challenge areas will include, but are not limited to: Vaults, Jumps, Walls, Bars, Rolls, Flow.

Are you a uyp student or not sure about competing this year? Come join us for tryouts next year for the competition team!

Competition Timeline of events

This timeline is standard for every Competition and is the same for both Youth and Teen/Adult Competition Days. If Events end early, the following Event will begin early.

9:00am   -  10:00am --   Check in and Warm Ups
10:00am -  10:30am --   Freestyle Explanation and Freestyle Practice
10:30am -  1:00pm   --   Freestyle and Tie Breakers
1:00pm   -  1:30pm   --   Explanation of Speed 
1:30pm   -  3:30pm   --   Speed and Tie Breakers
3:30pm   -  4:00pm   --   Explanation of Skills
4:00pm   -  6:00pm   --   Skills
6:00pm   -  6:30pm   --   Open Gym Jam/Computing Scores and Preparing Awards
6:30pm   -  7:15pm   --   Awards Ceremony
