Texas Is Launching ESA Funds for Homeschoolers—Here’s What You Need to Know
Starting in the 2026–27 school year, Texas will offer Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) to eligible families—including homeschoolers. These accounts provide up to $2,000 per year for educational expenses like curriculum, classes, tutors, and learning tools.
Even if you’re homeschooling independently (not through a charter), your family can apply.
Families of children with disabilities may qualify for up to $30,000 per year to use on approved programs and services.

How the Texas ESA Program Will Work
1. Program Launch (Fall 2026)
Texas will open ESA applications for homeschool families through state-approved Scholarship Funding Organizations (SFOs).
2. Apply & Manage Funds
Families will apply through their SFO’s online portal and choose how to allocate their ESA funds to approved programs.
3. Use ESA Funds at Urban Youth Park
Once approved, you’ll be able to use your ESA for our homeschool classes, physical education, skill programs, and camps. Urban Youth Park plans to register as an approved vendor in time for the program launch.
